I have been in same situation with my Dell Vostro 1550 64 bit Windows 10 OS. I have the habit of disabling windows update whenever I install any OS. In windows 10 you can turn off automatic windows update from services. If you stop windows update or disable automatic update then you cannot search online for display adapter driver.
Hence the simple solution is make windows update manual update your drivers and then again if you want then disable windows update.
If this doesn't solve your issue then either download driver from the official websites from dell, HP etc or contact to their support.
